Industrialization & Partner Capability
To address concerns regarding scalability and industrial maturity of axial flux motors, Synwyn works with a network of specialized partners with established mass-production experience and proven delivery records.
Across Synwyn’s axial flux partner network, partners collectively hold more than 1,500 patents worldwide, including a leading patent portfolio related to axial flux and axial magnetic drive technologies. The partner organizations together employ approximately 1,300 people, with more than 500 engineers dedicated to R&D, supporting continuous development, industrialization, and quality assurance.
In mass production, axial flux motors within this partner network have achieved a power density of up to 8.17 kW/kg, significantly exceeding established industry planning targets. This performance level is approximately 63% higher than the U.S. new energy vehicle motor target for 2025, and more than 100% higher than China’s long-term motor planning benchmarks.
Axial flux motor solutions from Synwyn’s partners have been delivered at scale, including:
• Over 10,000 wheel-side motors supplied for low-floor electric buses (8.8–10 m class)
• More than 6,000 motors delivered for heavy-duty trucks (~13 t class)
• Hundreds of motors deployed in mining trucks ranging from 105–120 t
Building on this industrial foundation, axial flux motor solutions are now expanding into construction equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders, with additional off-highway applications under active prototyping and evaluation.
These industrial references enable Synwyn to assess axial flux motor applicability based on real production data, field operation experience, and validated manufacturing processes—rather than concept-level assumptions.
Engineering Comparison ExampleThe comparison below illustrates typical differences between axial flux and conventional motor architectures at comparable power and torque levels.
It is intended to support system-level understanding. Actual dimensions, weight, and efficiency depend on application requirements, cooling concepts, and integration conditions.
